The Wuhan outbreak of the Conronavirus COVID-19 is a Global Public Health Emergency with the potential to become a Pandemic. Many experts predict that COVID-19 will eventually spread across the globe and last for multiple years.
JAJ International is a leading rapid diagnostics manufacturer currently working on a rapid diagnostic for the Coronavirus. Currently there is no vaccine or cure for victims, but a quick and accurate diagnostic would allow early diagnosis and more effective treatment. JAJ has developed a Prototype Coronavirus Rapid Test, and we are seeking organizations and government partners that would be able to provide testing and Clinical Data collection.
Our diagnostic works by using immobilized antigens on a membrane that bind the antibodies of the Coronavirus. The test is a one-step rapid diagnostic test that has an unmatched shelf life and is incredibly temperature tolerant, meaning that it can be used in a variety of environments and conditions around the globe, including the heat and humidity of the Amazon jungle. Our rapid test diagnostics are designed that even a layman could use the test with minor instruction.
Countries around the world are bracing themselves to best combat the projected spread of the Coronavirus, but unfortunately there is no known cure and no existing rapid diagnostic tests. Many countries are restricting travel from China, effecting global commerce and potentially influencing accurate vector reporting.
The Coronavirus can easily be misdiagnosed as Influenza A/B, Bronchitis or the common cold without accurate diagnostics. Also, the Coronavirus easily spreads person to person in very much the same efficiency as the flu or cold. And while not a lot is known about all the details of the Coronavirus, the Government of China has stated that some small percent of Coronavirus infected individuals are asymptomatic, meaning they show no outward symptoms and could easily pass the Coronavirus unknowingly. In cooperation with Public Health entities in Asia, our Coronavirus COVID-19 prototype rapid tests are under clinical evaluation.
